Carmichael open mine footprint

Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from one or more source datasets. Any source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement.

The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

This is a shape file showing the progressive extent of proposed Carmichael Coal Mine (open cut only). Footprint area maps were obtained from the SEIS report of Carmichael Coal Mine and rail Project.

Purpose

These maps were used to estimate the mine impacted area as a function of time. This information was needed to estimate the hydrological changes in flow regimes due coal mine activities.

Dataset History

Mine footprints areas were delineated based on digitisation methods (using ArcMap Tools). The base maps were obtained from the Carmichael Coal Mine and Rail Project Environmental Impact Assessment report.
