This layer supersedes Townsites (LGATE-007) Townsites are the urban centres described by technical description. A townsite must be approved (by document) by the Minister for Lands, under the Land Administration Act 1997. A townsite consists of urban land, rather than rural land. Derived from the Spatial Cadastral Database (SCDB) and based on GDA 94. Updated regularly when amendments/changes are formalised.
