This dataset is a Soil Profile Class and land suitability survey of the Burdekin River irrigation area, Leichhardt Downs section in the Burdekin, North Queensland. The mapping covers parts of the Clare and Gregory Ranges 1: 50,000 map sheets (8358-3, 8358-2) and was completed in 1990. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 25,000 and 212 Soil Profile Classes were identified. The map was produced as part of a larger land suitability study in the area, primarily to provide land resource information and land suitability criteria to assist the Queensland Water Resource Commission with resubdivision and farm design for subsequent irrigation farms.
