This dataset is a Soil Profile Class and land suitability survey of the Kilcummin area in the Fitzroy, Central Queensland. The mapping covers the Kilcummin 1: 100,000 map sheet (8453) and was completed in 1991. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 100,000 and 59 Soil Profile Classes were identified. This area was a priority choice for detailed land resource survey and land suitability assessment because of its variety of easily cultivated lands, marginal rainfall regime and position in an expanding cropping area.
