Abstract
This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.
The Dynamic Land Cover Dataset of Australia is the first nationally consistent and thematically comprehensive land cover reference for Australia. It is the result of a collaboration between Geoscience Australia and the Australian Bureau of Agriculture and Resource Economics and Sciences, and provides a base-line for identifying and reporting on change and trends in vegetation cover and extent. The dataset comprises three trend datasets showing the change in behaviour of land cover across Australia for the period 2000 to 2008 and a digital copy of the technical report
Dataset History
This dataset was downloaded from the Geoscience Australia website (http://www.ga.gov.au/metadata-gateway/metadata/record/gcat_71071) May 1, 2015.
The following History statement is from the 'Trend Data Description' PDF document, saved within the dataset folder.
Each of the three trends represents a different aspect of the photosynthetic behaviour of the vegetation within that pixel over a year. The trend data was calculated as the slope of the line for a linear regression of the annual minimum EVI values (lowest 3 EVI values for each year), annual maximum EVI values (highest 3 EVI values for each year) and annual mean EVI values (average of all EVI values for that year).
