Mapping for Matters of State Environmental Significance version 4.1 in Queensland under the new State Planning Policy.
Purpose
The mapping of Matters of State Environmental Significance version 4.1 (MSES) is a spatial representation of the definition of MSES under the new State Planning Policy in Queensland.
Dataset History
Matters of State Environmental Significance MSES was generated using -but not limited to- base data including regional ecosystems mapping, Queensland wetland mapping, protected areas, marine parks and fish habitat areas. Data included in MSES was incorporated into 5 major categories: CONSERVATION;WETLANDS;SPECIES;VEGETATION;OFFSETS. Components from the base data were derived to form a unionized MSES data set. key attributes were stored within the dataset to allow for easier access on MSES values. For the SPP purposes, information from the MSES data was queried to form different layers that aligned with the MSES definition. See the MSES methodology for more information.
