Abstract
The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.
The dataset is a shapefile derived based on the mine expansion plan boundaries digitised from various reports. It represents the Coal Resource Development Pathway (CRDP) for the Startford Mine, the Rocky Hill Project and the Duralie Mine within the Gloucester subregion. Mining company reports contain maps of proposed expansion plans for these mines and these were digistised to represent the future expansion of mine footprints for the CRDP. These areas were used in modelling of surface water and groundwater to assess likely the impacts of mining on water resources in the Gloucester subregioin.
Purpose
Used to represent the existing mining footprints for mines operating in the Gloucester Basin.
Dataset History
Future expansion plans for mine boundaries were digitised from various reports by georectifying images scanned from the reports. These were used as background images to digitise the boundaries within ArcGIS.
