GLO Economic Elements ZoPHC v02

Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

The dataset consists of following shapefiles:

AlluviumBores_Within_MinePits.shp: consists of all alluvial bores located in the mine pits belonging to coal resources

AlluviumBores_Within_ZoPHC: consists of all alluvial bores located within the zone of potential hydraulic change (ZoPHC)

AlluvialBores_Within_ZoPHC_20Feb17.shp: consists of all alluvial bores located within the zone of potential hydraulic change (ZoPHC) and was created on 20 February 2017.

AlluvialBoresWithin_GWZoPHC.shp: consists of all alluvial bores located within the groundwater zone of potential hydraulic change (GWZoPHC)

AlluvialBoreswithWS_Within_ZoPHC_20Feb17.shp: consists of all alluvial bores located within the zone of potential hydraulic change (ZoPHC) with information about the water source area and was created on 20 February 2017.

AlluvialBoreWithin_MinePits.shp: consists of all alluvial bores located in the mine pits belonging to coal resources

Bores_Outside_GWZoPHC.shp: consists of all groundwater bores located within the ZoPHC, but located outside the GWZoPHC

GLO_WaterSource_ZoPHC.shp: shapefiles representing the management and water source areas intersecting the Gloucester subregion

GloucesterBasin_GWBores_Within_ZoPHC.shp: shapefile representing the bores located in the Gloucester basin groundwater management areas of the North Coast Fractured and Porous Rock Groundwater Sources 2016 Water Sharing Plan and within the ZoPHC

GloucesterBasinBores_Within_GWZoPHC.shp: shapefile representing the bores located in the Gloucester basin groundwater management areas of the North Coast Fractured and Porous Rock Groundwater Sources 2016 Water Sharing Plan and within the GWZoPHC

GloucesterBasinGMABores_Within_MinePit.shp: shapefile representing the bores located in the Gloucester basin groundwater management areas of the North Coast Fractured and Porous Rock Groundwater Sources 2016 Water Sharing Plan and within the minepits belonging to coal resources

NewEnglandFoldBelt_GWBores_Within_ZoPHC.shp: shapefile representing the bores located in the New England Fold Belt Coast groundwater management areas of the North Coast Fractured and Porous Rock Groundwater Sources 2016 Water Sharing Plan and within ZoPHC

Old_GW_Points.shp: shapefile representing the groundwater bores as in the Gloucester Assets database.

Old_SW_Points.shp: sshapefile representing the surface water extraction points as in the Gloucester Assets database.

SWPoints_Within_SWZoPHC.shp: consists of all surface water elements (extraction points) located within the surface water zone of potential hydraulic change (SWZoPHC)

SWPoints_Within_ZoPHC.shp: consists of all surface water elements (extraction points) located within the ZoPHC

Dataset History

This dataset consists of economic elements extracted from the Gloucester Assets Database and intersecting the zone of potential hydraulic changes for the Gloucester subregion. The shapefiles were created after created a set of queries defined in ARCGIS software for shapefile datasets in the GIS folder of the Assets database. As part of the developing the queries, the updated zone of potential hydraulic changes shapefile along with the updated groundwater zone of potential hydraulic changes were considered.

The groundwater management areas intersecting the zone of potential hydraulic change were extracted from the Management zones dataset supplied by NSW Department of Primary Industries - Water in February 2017 and a shapefile was created by developing a query in the ARCGIS software.
