GLO SW Modelling Reaches and HRV lookup 20170217 v06

Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

Contains a line shapefile and an excel spreadsheet lookup table. The line shapefile derived from the River Styles source data spatially represents the reaches described in the accompanying lookup table so that surface water modelling based Hydrological response variables can be applied spatially along stream lengths.

Differs from previous versions in that the ambiguous and confusing "link_id" which was prone to being confused with node_id of the surface water nodes has been replaced with a clear "reach_id" of the form "rch_xxx" where xxx = 001 to 100.

Also fields with information as to what kind of interpolation has been applied to the reach have been added. Is different from v05 in that the HRV values for node 26 were revised rendering the reach associated with that node no longer considered subject to potential hydrological change.

Dataset History

Line segments from the River Styles source dataset were grouped into reach sections based on descriptions in the accompanying lookup table (supplied by Surface Water Modelling team) using the surface water node locations and described river junctions as spatial reference. Reaches were given a unique ID and dissolved into a multpart lines.
