HUN gridded daily PET from 1973-2102 v01

Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

Dataset contains daily time-series of potential evapotranspiration (PET, mm) on a 5 km grid resolution for the Hunter subregion.

Records start on 1 January 1973 and end on 31 December 2102.

Purpose

The PET data are an input to the Hunter subregion GW model

Dataset History

This dataset is an output of the Hunter subregion AWRA-L model, based on the high streamflow calibration (see Viney, 2016).

The model was run using BILO gridded daily minimum and maximum temperature, solar radiation and a long-term average windspeed. PET and recharge surfaces were generated specifically for use in the Hunter GW model.

Viney N (2016) Surface water modelling. Submethodology M06 from the Bioregional Assessment Technical Programme. Department of the Environment, Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO and Geoscience Australia, Australia.
