Basement Faults - PED

Abstract

This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.

The layer in question describes faults interpreted to occur within the base of Permian geology within the Pedirka Basin.

Purpose

This file is used to describe the location of interpreted faulting wihin the basement of Permian sequences of the Pedirka subregion.

Dataset History

Data used to construct this interpretation was sourced from publicly available geophysics (largely seismic), groundwater bore hole logs and open file mineral/petroleum exploration drilling logs. The first published instance of this interpretation is Wohling D, Keppel M, Fulton S, Costar A, Sampson L and Berens V 2013b. Australian Government Initiative on Coal Seam Gas and Large Coal Mining Arckaringa Basin and Pedirka Basin Groundwater Assessment Projects.
