Abstract
This dataset was supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and is presented here as originally supplied.
This layer defines the extent of the OGIA groundwater model flow boundary for each of the model domain layers.
The layer number for each shapefile corresponds to the model domain layer of the QWC regional groundwater flow model for the Surat and southern Bowen Basin, produced for the Underground Water Impact Report on the Surat Cumulative Management area (refer History).
Purpose
The dataset was developed to describe the geological extent of the formations representing each of the layers in the regional MODFLOW groundwater flow model of the Surat Basin. The purpose of these layers is to define the model extents for the respective formations as represented in a number of Bioregional Assessment products for the MBC subregion.
Dataset History
This dataset defines the geological extent of the OGIA groundwater model flow boundary for each of the groundwater model layers that were as devised for the model.
Layer 1: Central Condamine Alluvium Groundwater model
Layer 2: Rolling Downs Group including the Griman Creek, Surat Siltstone, and Wallumbilla Formation
Layer 3: Bungil Formation and Mooga Sandstone
Layer 4: Orallo Formation
Layer 5: Gubberamunda Sandstone in the Surat Basin and Hooray Sandstone Equivalents within the Eromanga and Carpentaria Basins
Layer 7,8: Springbok Sandstone and represents layers seven (7) and eight (8) in the model
Layer 10: Walloon Coal Measures of the Surat Basin and the Injune Creek Group of the Eromanga Basin
Layer 12: Aquifer formation within the Hutton Sandstone and Marburg Sandstone
