Abstract
This dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. The parent datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.
This dataset uses wetland, river, floodplain, swamp and springs spatial information to define water dependent areas within the Cooper subregion.
Dataset History
Wetlands, rivers, floodplains, swamps and springs, from several different source datasets, were combined to define water dependent areas in the Cooper subregion.
All features were selected from an arbitrary rectangle around outside the Cooper subregion with the extent:
N -23.084636551
W 137.462314009
E 145.092221072
S -31.06429
From GEODATA TOPO 250K Series 3 (GUID: a0650f18-518a-4b99-a553-44f82f28bb5f) ..\Hydrography.mdb
Rivers were selected from the 'WatercourseLines' Feature Class where:
Name Like ='RIVER'; and
HIERACHY = 'MAJOR'
Floodplains were selected from the 'Flats' Feature Class where:
Type = '1' LandSubjectToInundation
Swamps were selected from the 'Flats' Feature Class where:
Type = '4' Swamps
Rivers, Floodplains and Swamps were merged and buffered to 0.5m
From the Springs of Queensland - Distribution and Assessment (Version 4.0) dataset (GUID: 82749253-f555-47d9-ba76-7140c55b2a65) - all feature were included and buffered to 50m
From the Directory of Important Wetlands in Australia (DIWA) Spatial Database (Public) dataset (GUID: 6636846e-e330-4110-afbb-7b89491fe567) all features were included
