Hydroacoustic data were collected by Fugro Survey Pty Ltd, using a multibeam system, and provided us with information on the bathymetry and backscatter (texture) of the seafloor. The team collected over 1400 square kilometres at the eight study locations between April 2006 to February 2007. Study areas include Abrolhos Islands, Jurien Bay, Rottnest Island, Capes / Geographe Bay, Broke Inlet, Mt. Gardner, Point Ann, Middle Island.
