Mount Isa area airborne radiometric survey, Queensland 1959

During the months April to July 1959, an Auster aircraft of the Bureau of Mineral Resources carried out a low level radiometric survey of the Mount Isa region in North Queensland. 1920 square miles were surveyed and 14 radiometric anomalies were recorded. At least three of these anomalies coincide with known occurrences of uranium mineralisation.
