Magnetite Proxy Regions WCS

Created 09/01/2026

Updated 09/01/2026

This service contains grids representing the extent of high-density (>2.83 g/cm³), high-magnetic susceptibility (>0.0125 SI) regions across Australia. The grids are a product of crustal-scale modelling of density and magnetic susceptibility derived from the constrained inversion of gravity and total magnetic intensity (TMI) data, providing a proxy for magnetite regions. The regions are restricted to the top 10 km of the model volume and only include values from the undifferentiated crust. Citation: Goodwin, J. 2024.
