Destabilization of mutualistic interactions shapes the early heat stress response of the coral holobiont

Created 17/11/2025

Updated 17/11/2025

In a 2-month manipulative experiment, the coral Porites lutea was exposed to gradually increasing temperatures corresponding to 0–8 degree heating weeks (DHW) and the response of the coral holobiont was assessed using coral and Symbiodiniaceae transcriptomics, microbial 16S rRNA gene sequencing and physiological measurements. For full details see Marangon et al (2025).
