The main aim of the Canning Basin project isto improve our understanding of the strati-graphic and structural evolution of the basin asa basis for more effective and efficient resourceexploration. The first stage of the projectinvolved studies on two contrasting scales; abasin-wide compilation of structuralinformation (not reported here), and a detailedstudy of the stratigraphic architecture andevolution of the central part of the LennardShelf, some of which is presented here. Thebasic information generated during theLennard Shelf study has been compiled intothree folios - one containing interpreted seismiclines, one containing structure contour andisopach maps, and this folio containing se-quence interpretations of the more importantwells in the area. More detailed discussions ofthe interpretations of the Devonian-Carboniferous sequences in these wells arepresented in Jackson & others., (1992); Kennard& others., (1992) and Southgate & others (1993).
