The Torres Strait Bibliography is a digital compilation of over 600 references from a literature search of diverse sources including the State Library of Queensland, Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts, Biological Abstracts and the Australian Government Publishing Service. All references have been categorised into main topics which were chosen to integrate and improve access to information about Torres Strait, its inhabitants and its natural resources. All references have been assembled into a digital database, categorised, indexed by a unique number and annotated for assessment of utility for conservation planning. Maps relevant to conservation planning have been digitally scanned and linked to the source reference in the database. See the cited report: Taranto TJ and Long BG (1997) Torres Strait Bibliography.
