On ground management activities within Wellington Park are conducted by City of Hobart, Glenorchy City Council and the Parks and Wildlife Service. The Wellington Park Management Agency Areas layer depicts the areas that each management agency is responsible for, as defined in the Wellington Park Management Plan 2013 (amended 2015), which can be downloaded from the Wellington Park Management Trust website.

The City of Hobart has management control over the highest visitation areas of the Park. The Council provides a high level of management input and support, and also provides work crews based at the Bushland Operations Depot (on Huon Road). The Council also provides considerable technical and operational support to the Trust.

The Glenorchy City Council provides strategic planning and operational support, and conducts maintenance on the tracks and trails within its management area.

The Parks and Wildlife Service through its Derwent Field Centre (located at Seven Mile Beach) manages a large part of the more remote areas of the Park. The Derwent Field Centre manages a very large area that contains many reserves, thus resources to focus on the Park are very limited.
