Average monthly and average annual evaporation data - ARC

Abstract

This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.

Mean monthly and mean annual evaporation grids.

The grids show evaporation values across Australia in the form of two-dimensional array data.

The mean data are based on all available stations with at least ten years of records between 1975 and 2005.

Purpose

To demonstrate distribution of evaporation values over Arckaringa subregion.

Dataset History

Gridded data were generated using the Barnes 2-D meteorological analysis. Approximately 270 stations were used in the analysis. All input station data underwent a high degree of quality control before analysis. Most of the stations used in the analysis have at least 10 years of records, with at least 80% complete data over the recorded period. The evaporation data that were used in producing the grids are from the Bureau of Meteorologys class A pan evaporimeters.
