Upper Ocean Thermal Data, High Density, Pacific Ocean Line PX35 (Melbourne-Dunedin), 1991-1992

Created 25/06/2025

Updated 25/06/2025

This dataset contains temperature data from the TOGA/WOCE transect PX35 across the Tasman Sea. Data were collected between January 1991 and April 1992. The transect was repeated approximately 4 times a year, with profiles obtained approximately every 10-50 Km. The data were obtained from XBTs (expendable bathythermographs) deployed via merchant vessels, and are now managed by the Joint Australian Facility for Ocean Observing Systems (JAFOOS), a collaborative venture between CSIRO Marine Research and the Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre (BMRC).
