Telomere dynamics in the Pacific crown-of-thorns seastar (Acanthaster cf. solaris): effect of age, diet, and tissue type

Created 24/06/2025

Updated 24/06/2025

This dataset explores the use of telomere length in crown-of-thorns seastar as age marker. Seastar specimens were collected at AIMS, followed by DNA extraction and quantitative PCR in the PC2 lab. The data was collected during the first half of 2022. The results and interpretation of this dataset has been published in the peer-reviewed journal Coral Reefs in July 2023.
