Created 23/06/2025

Updated 23/06/2025

Securing WAs Marine Futures was an NHT II state-wide project, which has mapped marine habitats and biodiversity at eight study locations from the Abrolhos Islands to the Recherche Archipelago near Esperance. It was a partnership between Natural Resource Management (NRM) regional councils, the Australian and West Australian Governments, the University of Western Australia and Fugro. In addition to collecting this benchmark information on our marine assets, the project also examined the relationships between organisms and their habitats, and has developed recommendations on potential indicators and methods to track changes in the marine environment. Areas covered include: Abrolhos Islands, Jurien Bay, Rottnest Island, Cape Naturaliste / Geographe Bay, Broke Inlet, Mt Gardner, Point Ann, Middle Island Data link - https://data.tropicaldatahub.org/aims/Marine%20Futures/
