This record describes the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collected from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2023_V06, titled: "Understanding Eddy Interactions and Their Impacts in the East Australian Current System." The voyage took place between October 9, 2023 and November 2, 2023 (AEST), departing from Sydney and returning to Sydney. This voyage focused on mesoscale eddies, the weather systems of the ocean, that move heat, salinity, and other tracers around. They impact the ocean, ecosystems, and climate. Much is unknown about how these eddies interact with each other or how they affect the environment. This study aims to learn more about eddy‐eddy interactions and their impact on the atmosphere, ocean, and marine life in the East Australian Current System. Satellite data will be combined with ADCP, EK60, drifter, ARGO, radiosonde, CTD and Triaxus data measurements to help improve forecasts and predictions of eddy interactions. This dataset was processed (quality-controlled), and then archived by the CSIRO National Collections and Marine Infrastructure (NCMI) Information and Data Centre (IDC).
