RV Investigator Voyage IN2017_V04 CTD Data

This record describes the Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) data collected from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2017_V04 titled: "The whole enchilada: from production to predation in Tasman Sea ecosystems." The voyage took place from Brisbane (QLD) to Sydney (NSW) between August 31 and September 18, 2017. Data for 38 deployments were acquired using the Seabird SBE911 CTD unit 21 fitted with 36 twelve litre bottles on the rosette sampler. Cast 3 was aborted on deck and contains no valid data. Samples were collected on cast 2 and casts 4-38. Sea-Bird-supplied and CSIRO calibration factors were used to compute the pressures, preliminary conductivity oxygen and temperature data. The data were subjected to automated QC to remove spikes and out-of-range values. The final conductivity calibration was based on one deployment grouping. The primary sensor had a standard deviation of 0.0012186. The secondary sensor had a standard deviation of 0.0011728. Both sensors had a standard deviation (S.D) less than our target of ‘better than 0.002 PSU’. The final oxygen calibration from the primary sensor had a standard deviation of 0.61387uM. The final oxygen calibration for the secondary sensor had a standard deviation of 0.56887. The agreement between the sensor and bottle data was good for both sensors. Both Oxygen sensors calibrated closely. A Biospherical photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), Wetlabs transmissometer and Chelsea fluorometer sensors were also installed on the auxiliary A/D channels of the CTD. The collected data were subsequently processed and archived within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere (O&A) Information and Data Centre (IDC) in Hobart.
