Recovery of algal communities from human disturbance

Created 23/06/2025

Updated 23/06/2025

This data is from an experiment investigating the recovery of disturbed areas of Hormosira banskii. This experiment was done at 3 sites within Bunurong Marine Park from May 1990 to December 1991. Quadrats were disturbed by removing as much H.banksii as possible by hand and then scuffing the area to remove most remaining fronds. Variables measured in each quadrat were the percent cover of H.banksii and other non-turfing algae and the number of gastropods.
