Annual list of the Top 3 most popular baby names REGISTERED by LGA in NSW is based on the names registered in the previous calendar year.

NOTE: The data contained in these datasets reflects the total number of REGISTRATIONS completed by BDM, not the number of actual life events that occurred in NSW (e.g. a birth).

For example, a birth that took place in November of any given year can result in a REGISTRATION up to 60 days later, sometimes even more, appearing in the registration data for the following year.

The dataset will be updated yearly around March each year.
