Created 25/06/2025

Updated 25/06/2025

"Informal Reserves" is a layer determined by using Sustainable Timber Tasmania's MDC to distinguishes areas to be protected from wood production purposes ( such as wildlife habitat strips, wedge-tailed eagle reserves, threatened flora reserves and landscape reserves etc.) as protection from those areas managed as production or non-production. Informal reserves have been identified by planners and are refined during ongoing operational planning processes across all land managed by Sustainable Timber Tasmania including all Permanent Timber Production Zone (PTPZ) land, some areas of crown land, joint ventures and leases on private land. Sustainable Timber Tasmania undertakes operational, tactical and strategic planning in the context of non-production forest areas and informal reserves on the land that it manages.
