Granulometric Analysis of Core Samples on Wistari Reef

Created 23/06/2025

Updated 23/06/2025

Wistari Reef is a lagoonal platform reef, situated on the Tropic of Capricorn, within the Capricorn and Bunker region of the southern Great Barrier Reef. Four core samples were collected from various locations on the reef with textural and compositional analysis performed downcore, in order to characterise past reef environments. Granulometric analysis of core VC-01 was not performed, due to washout and loss of fine sediments during sampling.
