This dataset comprises a collection of high resolution climate grid surfaces for land areas across Tasmania, generated at a 30m spatial resolution. There are 76 climate products that describe temperature and rainfall parameters tailored to crop growing requirements as part of the Enterprise Suitability Mapping Program (link: https://dpipwe.tas.gov.au/agriculture/investing-in-irrigation/enterprise-suitability-toolkit/enterprise-suitability-maps).

The products include climate risk indicators such as frost risk, heat risk, and extreme rainfall risk, as well as crop related indices including growing degree days and chill hours. In addition, mean monthly climate surfaces are provided for maximum and minimum air temperature and rainfall.

These grids represent modelled climate observations for the baseline period 1998-2017 and are designed to complement CMIP6.0 climate projection outputs available through The LIST (link: https://www.thelist.tas.gov.au/app/content/data/geo-meta-data-search?profileType=&groupName=&bboxNorth=&bboxWest=&bboxSouth=&bboxEast=&titleSearch=true&query=digital+climate&_keywordCategory=-1&isTasmania=true&custodian=&sortBy=Title%3AASC&matches=10). All climate products are accessible via the Natural Assets Web Map Service (WMS) at https://spatial.dpipwe.tas.gov.au/naturalassets/Climate/wms. They can also be viewed interactively through the Tasmanian Climate Map web application at https://arcg.is/vaHDG.
