Depth to magnetic basement map of the Gawler-Curnamona region, South Australia 1:750 000 scale

The depth to magnetic basement map was constructed from a compilation of point located depth values in metres below topography consisting of depth to magnetic source estimates, basement drill hole intersections, interpreted seismic depth estimates. These point depths were combined with mapped geology to delineating the outcropping basement, and then gridded.
The depth to magnetic basement in this study is interpreted to delineate the top of the pre-Neoproterozoic. There are three exceptions which are due to the nature of the magnetisation of these units. The first two exceptions (Pandurra Formation and sediments of the Adelaide Geosyncline) has resulted in a portion of the horizontal extent being assigned to the magnetic basement and the remainder, to the low to non-magnetic cover, while the third (sediments of the Adelaide Geosyncline) has resulted in the lower sequences being assigned to the basement and the upper sequences to the cover.
