Emergency Services - Mineral Resources Tas. (DIER) - Joint Regolith Thickness

Created 25/06/2025

Updated 25/06/2025

Joint Regolith Thickness shows regolith thickness of the Hobart and Glenorchy Area as part of the Tasmanian Landslide Hazard Map Series, 2005. This information is of particular importance on the hill country to assist the validation of the debris-flow source zones. Most of the information comes from field observations made by the geologists who undertook 1:25 000 geological field mapping of the area, but some data is extracted from external reports. This data was supplied to ES-GIS by Mineral Resources Tasmanina (MRT), a part of the Dept. Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) and will be regularly updated (or upon request) with periodic resupplies.
