The sub-tropical Houtman Abrolhos Islands and associated reefs are located approximately 60 km offshore from the mid-west coast of Western Australia on the edge of the continental shelf between 28˚15’S and 29˚S. The Houtman Abrolhos comprise three main island groups that span approximately 100 km in a north-south direction. From south to north they are the Pelsaert, Easter and Wallabi groups. From late May to early June 2007, stereo-video surveys were conducted at three sites within each island group). This data was used with data from Ningaloo and Abrolhos regions in a larger study that compared the assemblage composition, relative abundance and size of fishes sampled using Baited remote underwater stereo-video (stereo BRUV) and Diver-operated stereo-video systems (stereo DOV).
