The Australian Geological Survey Organisation maintains national databases of aeromagnetic, radiometric and digital elevation data, which have been progressively collected since the 1950s and are still being added to. The quality of the information collected in recent years is such that a case can be made for re-flying large parts of Australia, over which only old, poor-quality data are available.
