This dataset comprises the current meter data collected from 5 AIMS and 5 CSIRO moorings in the region of the Great Barrier Reef off Townsville (bordering the Coral Sea) during June-November 1985, as part of a study of the Great Barrier Reef undercurrent, and circulation in the Coral Sea. There are 9 moorings and 19 current meters represented in this dataset. Parameters typically recorded in current meter data comprise east-west and north-south velocity components, water temperature, pressure, and salinity at a nominal depth for each current meter. The data have been processed and are archived as part of the holdings of the CMR Data Centre in Hobart.
