'Ships of Opportunity' (SOOP) is a facility of the Australian 'Integrated Marine Observing System' (IMOS) project. This data set was collected by the SOOP sub-facility 'Sensors on Tropical Research Vessels' aboard the RV Cape Ferguson Trip 6512.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Seawater Intake Temperature at 1.9m on trip 6512 from 27 Aug 2016 through to 09 Sep 2016, and the installation was located at/on RV Cape Ferguson. Sensor deployed was a SBE 38 remote temperature sensor manufactured by Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc., model SBE 38.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Salinity at 1.9m on trip 6512 from 27 Aug 2016 through to 09 Sep 2016, and the installation was located at/on RV Cape Ferguson. Sensor deployed was a SBE 21 conductivity cell manufactured by Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc., model SBE 21.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Turbidity at 1.9m on trip 6512 from 27 Aug 2016 through to 09 Sep 2016, and the installation was located at/on RV Cape Ferguson. Sensor deployed was a Wet Labs FLNTU-RT Optical sensor (Turbidity and Fluorescence) manufactured by Wetlabs, model FLNTU-RT.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Fluorescence at 1.9m on trip 6512 from 27 Aug 2016 through to 09 Sep 2016, and the installation was located at/on RV Cape Ferguson. Sensor deployed was a Wet Labs FLNTU-RT Optical sensor (Turbidity and Fluorescence) manufactured by Wetlabs, model FLNTU-RT.
