A fast, precise, in-vivo method for micron-level 3D models of corals using dental scanners

Created 23/06/2025

Updated 23/06/2025

The use of intra-oral dental scanning technology for the 3D scanning and model building of juvenile coral colonies was investigated. Individual corals were scanned and measurements of volume and surface area were calculated, as well as the time it took to scan and build the models. This collection includes a standard operating procedure workflow, 3D Objects, and csv + code.
