This record describes the datasets obtained on Courageous Cruise 042. The data were obtained from the Tasman Sea in November and December 1978 in an area off the NSW coast between Sydney and Eden. Data were obtained from acoustic and trawl surveys of pelagic and demersal fish including crustaceans. Myctophids made up the bulk of the fish catch. Plankton samples were also obtained during this cruise.
