The Green Point Creek system has been divided into component areas for application of a floodplain management plan. The component areas, illustrated on Figure 13, cover:

Tourmaline Avenue Floodway Area; Tourmaline Avenue - Flood-Liable Developed Area; Crystal Avenue Floodway; Tourmaline Avenue Culvert Area - currently flood-liable; and Diamond - Tourmaline Avenue - Flood-Liable Developed Area.

The specific points applied in each of the above areas involve:

land use controls; building development controls; limited channel erosion protection under government funding; the bulk of channel erosion protection by land owner finance; and structural works, as outlined above with Tourmaline Avenue culvert replacement, floodplain restoration and acquisition of one house.
