Data showing estimated lime use on agricultural land in South Australia, 1998 to 2015 (as supplied by the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, South Australia).

Estimations have been based on lime sales data obtained by the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (South Australia) from lime sellers.

Note. Lime requirements are based on estimated annual acidification rate for agricultural soils based on soil attributes, land use type and intensity.

The data has been used by the Department of Environment and Energy to produce Figure LAN19 in the Land theme of Australia State of the Environment 2016, available at https://soe.environment.gov.au/theme/land/topic/2016/soil-salinity-and-acidification#land-figure-LAN19
