This record is an overview entry for biological data collected on Southern Surveyor cruise SS 01/94. This cruise took place in waters off southern Tasmania during 1-16 February 1994, under the leadership of Tony Koslow. Biological data collected on this cruise include EK 500 acoustic measurements of orange roughy (Hoplostethus atlanticus) and deepwater oreos, smooth oreo (Pseudocyttus maculatus) and black oreo (Allocyttus niger) and trawl sampling (carried out by two commercial trawlers) to estimate the species and size composition of acoustic targets. EK 500 acoustic measurements, zooplankton and nekton sampling and a CTD and fluorometer transect were obtained from the Maatsuyker seamount off southern Tasmania.
