These outputs represent the simulated peak flood water elevation in metres (mAHD) above the Australian Heigth Datum 1983 (AHD-TAS83) for various past events from 1969 to 2018. The spatial distribution of flooding varies across the state depending on the distribution of rainfall for each past event. This data is a composite data set of model outputs from twenty-five (25) separate hydrodynamic models. The data provides coverage for all of Tasmania depending on the individual event and excluding King Island, the Gordon - Franklin basin, Furneaux Islands, and Macquarie Island. Mapping should be interpreted using hydrology and hydrodynamic methodology reports, and relevant catchment level calibration reports on the State Emergency Service Website: https://www.ses.tas.gov.au/floodmaps/tasmanian-flood-mapping-project-reports/. The TSFM calibration events offer a historic view of flooding within the state and is subject to refinement by respective Local Government Authorities or SES as more refined data becomes available.
