The dataset was created from fieldwork, consultation with local experts, vector data sets, databases and 2009/2010 RapidEye imagery which required successive stages of data collection, interpretation, verification and validation for a quality assured final product. Minimal mappable areas varied from 10 ha for mapping at 1:50 000 from RapidEye imagery and less for other datasets used with larger scales.
