                <gco:CharacterString>## **Abstract** 

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement. 


Stratigraphic well locations have been downloaded from the Qld IRTM system. This file only includes deep wells that have been drilled specifically to improve the knowledge on the subsurface in the Clarence-Moreton Basin. The detailed stratigraphy of most of these wells is described in detail in Wells and O'Brien, 1994 (see reference below).

## **Dataset History** 

The shapefile is based on data from the Qld IRTM system and Wells and O'Brien (1994).


The locations of most stratigraphic wells were sourced from the Qld IRTM system. This source dataset included data from the entire state of Qld. The source dataset was then clipped in ArcGIS to the extent of the Clarence-Moreton bioregion. Additional wells which were not included in the Qld IRTM system were sourced from Wells and O'Brien (1994).
