It represents a gazetted boundary of a suburb or locality area. The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is responsible for new suburbs and major amendments. Local Government Areas are accountable for minor amendments. These minor amendments are still put through the GNB and are carried out under the \u201cMinor position and Extents policy\u201d.The dataset also contains postcodes that are held against each suburb, sourced and matched from Australia Post.
