This report is concerned with the progress of the study in 1979; it is mainly a record of the work undertaken and of the results to hand at the end of 1979.\nThe main aim of the investigation is to establish a network of monitoring bores in the two catchments for the purpose of gathering baseline data on groundwater chemistry and hydraulics of the surficial cover to the bedrock.
