Three different methods were compared for processing the captured eDNA from the sampler: filtering OCD water, extracting eDNA from sponge pieces, and filtering sponge rinse water. Using fish as our example organism, the identities of fishes from eDNA detections were also compared with bottom trawl survey data collected during the same survey, and the known regional species
