The tidal influence under low freshwater discharge\nconditions extends approximately 40km upstream and\nterminates at Liverpool Weir.\n\nFlood monitoring at selected sites as defined in Figure 1 is\nundertaken for floods in excess of a one in ten year\nfrequency. Flood monitoring is commenced on receipt of\nConfidential/Preliminary Flood Warning advice when it is\npredicted that a stage level of 2.0 meters at the Liverpool\nWeir gauge (approximately 4.7m AHD) will be exceeded.\n\nThe collection of this flood data has in the past and will\nin the future be used to calibrate physical modeIs which are\nconstructed at the PWD Manly Hydraulics Laboratory and\nU.N.S.W. Water Research Laboratory.\n\nThe current metering- lines, flood gauge location and\nautomatic recorder locations are as follows:\n\ni) Current metering/flood level observations:\n
