The tidal influence under low freshwater discharge\nconditions extends approximately 40km upstream and\nterminates at Liverpool Weir.\n\nFlood monitoring at selected sites as defined in Figure 1 is\nundertaken for floods in excess of a one in ten year\nfrequency. Flood monitoring is commenced on receipt of\nConfidential/Preliminary Flood Warning advice when it is\npredicted that a stage level of 2.0 meters at the Liverpool\nWeir gauge (approximately 4.7m AHD) will be exceeded.\n\nThe collection of this flood data has in the past and will\nin the future be used to calibrate physical modeIs which are\nconstructed at the PWD Manly Hydraulics Laboratory and\nU.N.S.W. Water Research Laboratory.\n\nThe current metering- lines, flood gauge location and\nautomatic recorder locations are as follows:\n\ni) Current metering/flood level observations:\n<ol>\n<li>East Hills Footbridge</li>\n<li>Milperra Road Bridge</li>\n<li>Rabaul Road (gauge readings only)</li>\n<li>Lansdowne Bridge - Prospect Creek</li>\n<li>Irelands Bridge - Cabramatta Creek</li>\n<li>Mountbatten Bridge - Warwick Farm</li>\n</ol>\n\nii) Automatic recorders are located:\n<ol>\n<li>Milperra Bridge (see note below)</li>\n<li>Lansdowne Bridge</li>\n<li>Cutler Road, Lansvale</li>\n<li>Scrivener Street, Warwick Farm</li>\n<li>Liverpool weir (upstream)</li>\n</ol>\n\nNote on Milperra - The Milperra automatic recorder is located\nimmediately upstream of the road bridge. It\nconsisted of two measurement points, however only\nthe downstream one was operating at the time of\nthe monitoring.
