The source dataset is identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.\n\n\n\nThis dataset include six unified 6-category daily streamflow files, six base flow files, two xlsx files, and four scripts for generating intermediate dataset and plotting.\n\n\n\nEach unified 6-category daily streamflow file was generated using the MATLAB script \"Streamflow_QA_QC.m\". The six categories are good, fair, poor, unverified, missing, and non-conformed.\n\n\n\nEach daily base flow file was generated using the MATLAB script \"Baseflow_characteristics.m\".\n\n\n\nAnnual and monthly streamflow characteristics data were generated using the MATLAB script \"Streamflow_characteristics.m\".\n\n\n\nData gaps were calculated using the MATLAB script \"Streamflow_QA_QC_Gap_Statistics.m'.\n\n\n\nThe xlsx file \"BA-Excel-Gloucester_v02.xlsx\" was used to plot monthly streamflow distribution (Figures 28-29 in the context statement), annual flow time series (Figures 30-31 in the context statement) and base flow index time series (Figures 32-33 in the context statement).\n\n\n\nThe xlsx file \"Gap_Stastical.xlsx\" summaries streamflow data gaps for the six gauges.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nThe New South Wales Office of Water (NOW) provides to the Bureau of Meteorology a copy of their hydstra surface water database. The last extract was received in July 2013. \n\nData was extracted from the Hydstra format to .csv files for surface water sites within the Gloucester sub-region as requested by the Gloucester project team.\n\nQuality codes  have been included.\n\nWhere surface water quality data is available, this is included on a separate tab for each gauging station\n\n\n\nThe intermediate data was generated using the MATLAB scripts (these are stored within the data set) and was used to plot streamflow characteristics, i.e. monthly streamflow distribution, annual streamlfow time series, and baseflow index time series.\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nBioregional Assessment Programme (XXXX) Streamflow characteristics and base flow data for the Gloucester subregion.
